There's a story in the paper this morning, says that meat from cloned animals will not carry any special lableing. I am guessing that Hormel, Purdue and the other Big Beef/Pork/Chicken growers are very much behind this movement, and will be developing cloning programs.
Don't know much about it, but I do find the idea morbidly fascinating. While I'm not ethically against it, it does skive me a little. Maybe even a lot....And it's not because I think "baby's got to be made the old fashioned way." I used to wonder if cloned beings possessed a sould, thinking the answer was no. But with some thought, I came to believe that souls probably can find their way to the beings. Those who would say otherwise, I think, may possibly be underestimating the power that is "God."
But that's another discussion....
I am actually not even all that interested in discussing the cloned meat for consumption.
What I AM interested in discussing is the notion that:
There MUST be scientists working - hard - at cloning humans. I just can't see how all scienctists would be so "pure" as to be able to resist. They're human after all, and....humans all possess a dark side, to some extent. Science is also competitive, and I would guess there is plenty of "off the books" experimentation going on.
I would even put forth that it is quite plausible that reserach for development of human clones IS being furthered through government funding. Top Secret, of course.....
What do you all think?
